Antique African BRONZE Mask. Outstanding, sensitive, art. For Sale

We have had quite a few antique African pieces over our years of collecting. We are not as knowledgeable about African art as we are about American Indian pieces, but I take all expert identifications with some skepticism, particularly about very unusual pieces.
We bought this at a high end Sarasota Winter Antiques show in the 80s. I had seen nothing like it. The seller had a number of outstanding pieces. He was selling them for a friend, who had inherited them from a grandfather who was an avid collector. Neither the owner nor the dealer professed to have any knowledge about the items. This, in my view was the best of the lot.
Regardless of culture, this is piece was created by a very talented artist. I looks like a portrait, although the holes for the addition of a beard and hair - probably of raffia - suggests it might not be. Realistic, sensitive sculpture in bronze, by a talented artist.
It was not made to wear - too heavy at 5.5 pounds, and no eye holes. 15\" tall, 7.5\" wide and about 5.5\" deep. A great piece of sculpture in any décor.
