These bronze cherubs were made in circa 1885, likely in Milan or Naples.During the Late-Victorian and Umbertine eras, high-end Italian foundries frequently cast component pieces for luxurious home furnishings—such as monumental iron/bronze wedding beds—using classic Baroque revival molds. Many of the pairs or sets that you see online were made in the last 20-30 years, instead of these ones which are about 150 years old.These were purchased at a very nice estate sale with other interesting antique works of art, musical instruments, antique books and other sculptures.
