This remarkable 19th-century hammered solid silver chalice is a fine example of Spanish liturgical art, crafted in the Catalan tradition.
The spreading hexagonal base features a hand-painted enamel miniature depicting Saint Eudald (Sant Eudald), the patron saint of Ripoll in Catalonia. He is shown with his traditional iconographic attributes, including a sword piercing his heart, a scapular, and accompanying cherubs.
The chalice displays exceptional craftsmanship throughout:
