Up for sale is a beautiful, authentic French classical revival sculpture from the late 19th or early 20th century by the documented French sculptor Auguste Louis Lalouette (1826–1883).
This elegant statuette depicts a beautifully detailed, winged cherub (putto) seated on a naturalistic base looking playfully to the side. The figurine displays a warm, golden-brown patinated finish with stunning highlights that accentuate the sculptural anatomy and classical drapery. The piece is mounted on its original, vibrant circular pedestal crafted from beautifully banded green onyx, showing rich, natural rust-and-ochre mineral veining.
Artist Signature: Intact and clearly visible on the lower reverse metal rim, reading "Lalouette" alongside a faint "France" foundry export stamp.
Condition: Excellent antique condition. Shows a wonderful, naturally aged patina with light surface rubbing consistent with age. No cracks or chips observed on the stone pedestal. (Please review all high-resolution photos carefully for an exact look at condition details).
Piece Highlights: Completely solid statuette (no holes or modified clock mounts), standing as a true standalone work of fine European decorative art.
Shipping Note: This delicate antique will be meticulously packaged using a heavy-duty double-boxing method to ensure the green onyx base and figurine arrive completely intact and safe. Shipped with full insurance and tracking.
