Up for sale is a remarkably preserved piece of broadcasting history: a matching 1920s Westinghouse Type RA Receiving Tuner and Type DA Detector-Amplifier system. Originally designed by radio pioneer Frank Conrad, this early 100+ year-old battery set is a centerpiece item for any antique electronics collector or museum display.
The black metal top panel is in exceptional condition with crisp, bright, highly legible stenciling. All knobs, dials, and binding posts feel mechanically smooth and adjust cleanly.Inclusions: Appears fully intact internally and includes an installed vintage vacuum tube. Also comes with an authentic, period-correct Cannonball Dixie single earphone.The original finished wood cabinet remains structurally sound and presents wonderfully. Note that the top leather carrying handle has broken off over the decades and is missing.
