Beautiful antique Art Deco book chain necklace dating to approximately the 1920s–1930s.Features an articulated geometric book chain with an ornate Art Deco centerpiece set with a deep red faceted stone. The combination of geometric fan-shaped details, architectural metalwork and articulated rectangular links is characteristic of jewelry from the Art Deco period.The center stone has the appearance and deep red color often associated with garnet, but it has not been professionally tested. It is therefore being sold as an untested red stone.Measures approximately 16–16.5 inches long when laid flat.The clasp is functional and the articulated links move properly. The necklace appears complete and is wearable as intended.Very nice antique condition with natural patina, discoloration and surface wear consistent with its age.
