Part of the highly collectible French \"Les Sports\" series (Card #445) published by the renowned ND Phot studio in Paris. Postcard features a beautiful, crisp black postal cancellation stamp from Avenue Marceau, Paris, clearly dated from 1906—the exact year Ellegaard won his 4th World Championship. The card features Ellegaard’s elegant signature printed in red script, included by the publisher in the original print run. I do have more cycling-related memorabilia and collectible items that came from a friend’s collection that I have been asked to help sell. He was an avid cyclist who started racing in 1953 at the age of 13. In 1956, he won the Junior National Championships and then went to Europe where he raced on the US Pan Am team. During this time, he met many great legends and published articles about his adventures. After racing, he went on the work for Schwinn bicycle company for 28 years and in 1984, he worked as a volunteer for the Olympic cycling events in LA.
