Antique International Tailoring Co. Advertising Match Safe / Vesta Case – Pat. March 1904
Offered is an original early 20th-century advertising match safe produced for the International Tailoring Co.
The highly detailed embossed front features the company's trademark lion surrounded by the cities New York, London, Chicago, Berlin and San Francisco, along with figural imagery on either side.
The case is stamped:
“PAT. MAR. 1904”
A particularly nice feature of this example is the surviving original advertising label inside the lid for the International Tailoring Co., promoting the company as the “Largest Custom Tailoring Concern in the World.”
This is an authentic period advertising piece from the golden age of American custom tailoring and would make an excellent addition to an antique advertising, match safe, vesta case, haberdashery or early 1900s Americana collection.
Condition: Original antique condition with expected age-related wear, scratches, finish/plating loss, discoloration and patina. The original interior paper advertising label shows age, staining and wear but remains substantially intact and legible. Hinged case opens and closes. Please examine all photographs carefully as they are part of the condition description.
