Up for sale is a beautiful, authentic piece of French ceramic history: a genuine antique lidded sauce boat (saucière) with a permanently attached underplate from the world-famous Émaux de Longwy pottery manufactory in France.This exceptional heirloom piece features the highly collected Shape No. 890, cleanly impressed into the clay on the underside of the base alongside the early factory\'s signature arching \"LONGWY\" stamp, factory sizing letter \"E\", and the workshop\'s historic geometric artisan wedge markers.It is stunningly hand-decorated with Longwy\'s legendary D188 \"Fleur de Pommier\" (Apple Blossom) motif, showcasing delicate pink and white blossom branches trailing across a vibrant, crackled turquoise-blue background glaze. The elegant handles, scalloped borders, and pointed lid finial are finished in a rich, contrasting deep cobalt blue. The bowl and spill tray are molded together as one singular unit—a classic historic French dining design layout intended to capture table drips and protect fine household linens.
