Up for sale is a stunning, authentic antique 3-piece cast iron fireplace surround / fireback set manufactured by Peerless Mfg. Co. (Louisville, Kentucky) and dated February 1887.
This high-relief architectural salvage set features a detailed central panel depicting folk dancers and a flute player under framed arches, flanked by two side panels showing musical cherubs (putti)—one playing a stringed instrument and the other playing a pipe.

Excellent antique condition with no structural cracks or broken cast mounting tabs/notches. Displays a uniform, authentic age-appropriate rust patina. Can be installed as-is for a rustic architectural look, or easily restored using traditional cast iron stove polish/blacking paste to bring out a rich, satin-black metallic sheen.
