Dating to the late Victorian era, this Swiss bodice is cut from deep brown velvet with a sharply fitted waist, high collar and rows of small faceted decorative buttons. The interior reveals traditional period construction, hand-finished details and an adjustable back, while its unusually small proportions suggest it was made for a very petite woman or younger wearer.
The velvet carries a rich, aged surface with strong tonal variation. Good antique condition overall, with several missing buttons, a few small holes and scattered wear consistent with its age.Please do not expect the garment to be new or in perfect condition; there may be minor defects (used clothing).
