The set includes:
The Book of Common Prayer
Includes the administration of the sacraments, rites and ceremonies of the church, together with the Psalter or Psalms of David. Dated 1875.
Hymnal According to the Use of the Protestant Episcopal Church
Revised Edition, also dated 1875.
Each book measures approximately 3.5 x 5.5 inches and the pair comes with its old fitted leather carrying case.
Condition: This is a well-loved antique set with significant age-related wear. The Book of Common Prayer has substantial binding damage, including a separated/loose cover and exposed spine and binding structure, as shown in the photos. The leather has heavy rubbing, cracking and loss from age. The hymnal also shows considerable exterior wear consistent with its age. The carrying case is heavily worn with cracking, deterioration and separation along the edges.
The books are being sold as found and as an antique collectible, with all wear considered part of their 150+ year history. Please review all photos closely for exact condition.
