Antique late-19th-century magic lantern projector with brass projection lens and a collection of associated original-style parts and glass slides.Included in the lot are the metal lantern/projector body with brass lens, removable metal chimney/elbow, oil/kerosene burner and lamp components, glass reservoirs/parts, and a group of antique hand-colored glass magic-lantern slides. Also included are older photographs showing the lantern and slides together, along with later research/reference material that was stored with the collection.The glass slides feature hand-colored illustrated scenes and show significant age-related wear, staining, surface deterioration and losses. The projector and metal components show heavy patina, oxidation, scratches, finish loss and general wear consistent with age.Untested and sold as-is. Completeness is unknown. No maker’s mark has been identified.
