Beautiful early vintage/antique rimless eyeglasses featuring a delicate gold-filled frame, decorative bridge and wraparound cable-style temples.
The bridge is clearly stamped “1/10-12K GF,” indicating 1/10 12-karat gold-filled construction.
These glasses have an attractive period three-piece rimless design with uniquely shaped lenses and engraved/decorative detailing along the temples.
Included is the original vintage eyeglass case. The inside contains an old identification label reading:
F. Besch
Mt. Hope St.
Etna, Penna.
The exterior of the case retains a very faded optician's imprint that appears to reference Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and possibly Ohio St./East Ohio St. Due to fading, the complete optician name and address cannot be confirmed.
Based on the construction and styling, these appear to date to approximately the early 20th century, likely 1920s–1930s, although the exact date and manufacturer have not been confirmed.
Condition: Antique/pre-owned condition with age-related wear, patina and surface marks. The original prescription lenses remain installed. Nose pads show age/discoloration. Case has substantial exterior wear and fading consistent with age. Please examine all photos carefully for condition.
