Beautiful original fruit still life by listed American pastel artist Andrew Severin Gunderson (1888–1964).

It is an especially nice example of Gunderson’s pastel work and displays beautifully.
The painting is signed “Gunderson” at the lower left. The reverse is dated 11-28-26 and retains its Mueller-Glick Company (MGC), Chicago factory label.
Andrew Severin Gunderson was a self-taught American artist born in Wallingford, Iowa. He began working professionally in Chicago as a teenager and later maintained his studio in Monee, Illinois.
Gunderson became best known for pastel landscapes featuring water, trees, cabins, and rural scenery. His fruit still lifes are far more rare and hard to come by than his landscapes.
The original pastel is on board and housed under glass in its period wood frame with narrow gold inner trim.
Condition: The painting displays beautifully. The wood frame has one chip, shown in the photographs. The original paper covering on the reverse is torn from age while preserving the handwritten 1926 date and Mueller-Glick Company label.
