Ancient Greek Philosophy for Childrenbegan as a hobby of trying to immerse myself in the history of Ancient Greek philosophy. Yet along the way, I began to wonder if my notes might prove helpful to anyone who has found the subject matter to be overly dense and inaccessible. In the process of editing my notes, I came to the conclusion that I could share my deep love for Ancient Greek philosophy with the greatest number of people if I could make the subject matter accessible to children. My hope is that new generations of readers will come to count Ancient Greek philosophy as entertaining and memorable as the Ancient Greek myths, which long have been fixtures of popular literature for readers of all ages.
In the first volume of myAncient Greek Philosophy for Children, I attempted to dramatize the history of PreSocratic philosophy, which is the variety of Greek philosophies that flourished before the time of Socrates. Towards the end of that volume, we met a young Socrates, and we followed his life from his childhood to his early adulthood. In this second volume of myAncient Greek Philosophy for Children, we meet a 34 year old Socrates, and we follow the course of his life up until his death at age 70.
