In December 1975, George and Kathy Lutz moved into a waterfront home at 112 Ocean Avenue in Amityville, New York. Just thirteen months earlier, the house had been the site of the infamous DeFeo family murders, one of the most shocking crimes in American history.
What happened next would make the property world-famous.
According to the Lutz family, they experienced a series of strange and unexplained events during their brief stay in the home. Their account attracted national attention and inspired books, documentaries, and the 1979 film The Amityville Horror. To this day, the house remains one of the most recognizable locations in paranormal history.
THE RELIC
During renovations in the 1980s, several original windows were removed from the house. While most of the materials were discarded, a small number of wooden window components were preserved and stored for decades.
This display contains an authentic relic recovered from one of those original windows, providing a tangible connection to one of America’s most famous haunted-house legends.
