10 x 17.5 cms vintage mounted albumen print. Some fading, Foxing on mount - see photos.Manuel Ramon \"Raymond\" Menendez was born in 1864 in Nassau, Bahamas. After university he was called to the Bar, Inner Temple, 17 November 1891.Raymond returned to the Bahamas and served as Judge of the Common Pleas from 1892-1894. He was then appointed District Commissioner in Lagos in 1894 and subsequently Chief Judicial Officer in the Niger Coast Protectorate. He was appointed puisne judge in southern Nigeria and then Chief Justice in Northern Nigeria 1905-1908. Manuel Ramon Menendez was knighted in 1906.He later became an Honorary (late temp) Major in the Army.
