the image is Joachim von Sandrart’s landmark 17th-century work, Teutsche Academie der Edlen Bau-, Bild- und Malerey-Künste (specifically from the section Sculpturae Veteris Admiranda, published around 1675–1680).
The featured engraving depicts a famous ancient Roman marble statue of a Satyr holding up a structural drapery/canopy as a caryatid, which at the time was famously housed in the Chigi collection in Rome. The plate was drawn by Sandrart and masterfully engraved by the Flemish printmaker Richard Collin in Antwerp.
