This is anOriginal, American Flyer, \"S\" Gauge, No. 466 \"Comet\" PA-1 Diesel Locomotive & Three Matching Passenger Cars,Produced by The Master Craftsmen of The A.C. Gilbert Company of New Haven, Connecticut, Circa 1954 or so.The diesel has one of the \"COMET\" decals put on incorrectly. You can see that it was sort of folded over and this had to have happened at the factory, during production.
This is a very clean set overall, but there is a bit of light rust on the underside of the loco & passenger car wheels which should clean off. I bench tested it and it runs very nicely, forward, neutral & reverse with the headlight working. I have not tested the passenger car lights.
I see nothing cracked, chipped or repaired. Even the original horn detail is intact.
The original boxes need some straightening. Some inner flaps are missing. The original loco wrapper is as shown.
