A wonderful large oil painting on canvas after Raffaello Sanzio's, called Raphael,Christ's charge to St. Peter.This painting is based on a print of the cartoon Raphael designed for tapestries located at the Sistine Chapel in Rome. The painting dates from the late 17th or early 18th century, and is likely Italian in origin. It is well rendered and ready for display! It is housed in an 18th century carved giltwood frame that has been professionally restored by re-gilding its surface.
Condition: Overall in good condition for age and it has been restored by the canvas being delicately relined. It has some typical toning and scattered craquelure throughout.
