NOTE: Super interesting prototype out of 2001 Donruss. These are an even more interesting and likely one of a kind prototype where they tested the canvas (aka Studio Series) technology on the BACK of the card. The front of the card is missing some of the foil treatment - on the logos and the top border as is customary for pack issued cards. Pretty cool and something you are not likely to see elsewhere.
This listing is for a seldom seen variation out of 2001 Donruss, The Diamond Kings are an iconic Donruss set dating back to the 1980\'s and hobby/art icon Dick Perez. In 2001 Donruss brought back the \"Studio Series\" which has a canvas texture to the card front. The pack issued cards were numbered to 10% of the normal production run (250 vs. 2500). Here we have an early run prototype with a reverse treatment. I have never seen these before and a good chance that they are one of a kind. I will be listing each as singles. All are fresh to the hobby and are generally be in the NM range, most seem to have a very minor surface blemish if you examine them closely. As they were likely prototypes for the set (this collection also included the famed Ichiro never produced 2000 Retro Rookie!) they were not final quality pack-inserted cards and focused more on experimenting and refining the production process.
