Pair of vintage Cutco No. 59 table knives, both stamped NO. CUTCO 59, PROCESS PAT. NO. 2147079.
This is the early two-digit version of the knife Cutco later renumbered 1059 and then 1759, in the solid dark brown handle that preceded the brown and orange swirl. If you are filling out an older Cutco set, these match the No. 59 pattern: straight hollow-ground edge, rounded tip, triple-rivet full tang handle.
Cutco was produced by Alcas Cutlery of Olean, New York, the joint venture between Alcoa and W.R. Case & Sons, from 1949 until Alcoa bought out Case in 1972.
Note: this is Cutco\'s table knife pattern, often sold as a table steak knife. It has a rounded tip and a straight hollow-ground edge. Cutco\'s pointed steak knife of the same era is the No. 47.
