Please read all steps before starting. Do not open grow bags until fullycolonized.
- Inspect your kit upon arrival. If any bags are torn or show signs of contamination, contact us immediately for a free replacement.
- Condensation inside the bags is normal.
- Use spores from a reputable source and follow sterile technique.
- Always sanitize your workspace with 70% isopropyl alcohol, wash your hands, and wear the included gloves.
1.Pour 70% isopropyl alcohol onto aclean paper towel.
2.Put on the included nitrile gloves.
3.Wipe your hands, work area, syringe,and grow bags with alcohol.
4.Attach the needle to your sporesyringe.
7.Wipe the injection port and needle with an alcohol swab.
8.Inject 2 ml of sporesolution into each grow bag.
9.Sterilize the needle with a freshswab between bags.
- Place inoculated bags in a dark location.
- Maintain room temperature between 70–75°F for optimal growth.
- Cooler temperatures may slow colonization.
- In 3 to 10 days, white mycelium should begin to appear.
(Timing may vary based on spores and environment.) - Once the bag is 30% colonized, gently squeeze to break up the mycelium.
- Mix the colonized grain thoroughly with the rest of the substrate.
- When the bag is fully colonized, Pins (baby mushrooms) will begin to form.
- Once Pins begin to form cut small slit in each side of the bag towards the top of the bag to introduce fruiting conditions.
- Harvest mushrooms just before the veil breaks.
1.Line the bottom of the tote with soakedperlite for humidity.
2.Place aluminum foil on top of theperlite.
3.Set the colonized block on the foil.
4.Remove the lid 3 times daily,fan for 30 seconds, and mist the sides of the tote.
5.Avoid puddles forming at the bottomof the tote.
