2, NEW, RCA-CBS, 5AS4 tall, shouldered glass, match date pr2, uprate 5U4G, 5U4GB For Sale

Two, new in box, CBS branded, RCA made 5AS4 tubes. The 5AS4 tube is an uprated 5U4G tube, which matches the characteristics of the 5U4GB in an envelope of the 5U4G tube.The 5AS4 can be used in all applications calling for the 5U4G, 5U4GA, and 5U4GB- many of the later 5U4GB tubes carried the designation of 5AS4A to show interchangeability. These tubes are branded CBS, but were manufactured by RCA- as no CBS 5U4G tube has this construction and the construction matches that of RCA in this era. From time to time, major manufacturers did rebrand other manufacturers tubes as their own, due to some shortage or deficiency of offerings in their own repertoire. Tested on a Hickok TV-3 military tester that has been calibrated, just to make sure. Firm bases, excellent silvering. The tubes are matched for structure inside and out and test at 168-166, 166-164 where pass/fail is 80. These are relative numbers and do not indicate percentages. The tubes have matching date codes, \"CV\", October of 1956.
