These are etchings by Iowa born, California artist, Charles Butler Keeler 1882-1964, known for his landscape paintings and printmaking. These etchings werefound framed and do have water stains, but beautiful images, that should berestored. From 1908-1912 Keeler traveled internationally, creating these works,Ronda, the Impregnable, in Spain and Riviera di Levante, in Italy. Ronda, theImpregnable is numbered (No.1) pencil signed and plate signed and dated, withthe plate marks measuring 16 1/8”x 10 3/4” and full sheet 19 3/4”x 12 7/8. It hassome water stains and a small tear, both on the bottom edge. The Riviera diLevante is pencil signed and numbered 21, with the plate marks measuring14 3/4”x 10 3/4”. The etching also has water stains at the bottom, but hopesomeone will purchase and restore. They will be sent well packaged and flat.
