19th Century French Palais Royal Ormolu swan sewing thimble holder & pin cushion. This stylish and elegant thimble holder pin cushion, originating from France, serves a practical purpose while adding a touch of sophistication. The intricate design featuring a swan which is gilded but also has some added colours although a little faded. The wings can be lifted to reveal a thimble and the pin cushion is to the front, the velvet quite worn from use.The swan sits on what I believe is carved alabaster in the form of a cushionmeasuring approximately 11 cm long and approximately 9.5 cm high
