1986 G.I. JOE COBRA HYDRO-SLED
Itemis in very good condition, color is still vibrant, sticker placementis good.
Originallyreleased in 1986 the Hydro-Sled has both missiles with all finsintact - they fit snug onto the pegs. The front and rear grills arepresent and fit snug, the rear fin bar is intact and fits well, it can hold position. Thefront canopy fits snug and the harpoon gun fits snug into theassembly. This vehicle can actually float. There is someoverall playwear, but it is still a nice piece.

A small, two-man water craft designed by Dr. Mindbender and used byCobra to defend the waters around Cobra Island. Hydro-sleds wereprimarily used by Cobra Eel divers, and were armed with a rapid-fire9mm cannon, a "Snag" wire-guided spear gun andtwo-optically guided "Sunk" torpedoes. The new Hydro-sledsarrived via transport helicopter with Dr. Mindbender as hefirst-landed on Cobra Island. The sleds were immediately put intoaction in battle against a team from G.I. Joe sent to rescueSnake-Eyes from the Island.
Asmall, flat-bottomed vessel, the Hydro-Sled can achieve considerablespeed on the waves, though it is susceptible to being capsized byparticularly large waves - or the wake of ships passing too close. Avinyl laminate reinforced hull, pivoting fin (automaticallydirectional trim tab), protective canopy (extended space-frame watershield): these attributes should make it well-suited for navalcombat. Cobra's Hydro-Sled is equipped with these known features:
9mmCannon: this front-mounted cannon can be discharged by one ofthe Hydro-Sled's occupants at anything within a ninety degree arc ofthe craft's bow.
ExciterHydro Jets: these DC-powered implements draw water in from thesurroundings, and violently expel it to give the Hydro-Sled itsconsiderable speed! Moving the Hydro-Sled at 52 knots, or 60 MPH, itcan easily leave most other craft lagging far, far behind.
Short-RangeRadar: as its operators cannot see more than a few feet aheadof it, particularly at high speed, the Hydro-Sled is equipped with ashort range radar scanner. It can light up whatever is within onemile of its location.
SnagSpeargun: installed over its 9mm swivel-mounted cannon, theHydro-Sled's snag speargun allows it to fire a single spear at itsoccupants' enemies.
SunkTorpedoes: mounted on each side of the Hydro-Sled, these twoprojectiles can be fired to inflict devastating damage to othervessels.
ThermalImaging Sensors: the Hydro-Sled is operated by instrumentationalone. When targeting foes, these heat detectors allow its occupantsto effectively fire upon ships and personnel with all its weaponry,doing so even without actually looking at them directly!
WaterShield: primarily intended to keep water out of its operators'faces, the Hydro-Sled is equipped with a front-mounted water shield.Interrupting its otherwise flat profile, this feature also grantsthose on board protection against front-facing foes.

Hehas tight joints, some obvious paint wear and paint rubs, New O-ring and no screw rust.
Appearance:purple helmet with red trim and silver goggles; purple short-sleevedshirt with black shoulder armor and gloves; purple pants with silverbelt and yellow holster; purple boots with black covering. Chest emblem mostly worn off.
Accessories: aftermarket EEL silver trident, a silver dagger and the figure stand pictured is included.
SeaSlugs are chosen from the ranks of EELs (Cobra frogmen). As such,they are qualified in underwater demolitions, small boat tactics, anda wide range of SONAR gear. Specialized Sea Slug trainingconcentrates on the use of the SEA RAY Tactical Submersible and itsvariants. The three phases of SEA RAY training are: river sand ports,deep ocean, and Arctic. The training cadre expects a 35% attritionrate during the Arctic phase.
"The SEA RAY is coated with arubberized damper that sends back an extremely indistinct "bounce"on all known SONARs. It is also equipped with a noise generator thatcan mimic the sounds produced by a humped-back whale. It has almostno heat signature and sits low in the water when on the surface. Inother words, they are very hard to detect and once you've found them,you have to deal with the Sea Slugs that man them!"
