This is an authentic raw US steel cent with its original circulated finish NOT a reprocessed, plated coin!
The product is a 1943 1C USA Steel Cent Lincoln Wheat Penny, also known as a "Steelie." Each coin was minted in Philadelphia and is composed of steel due to wartime shortages of copper which was needed for ammunition and electrical equipment, among other things. It features a business strike type and is uncertified. This coin is a piece of United States coinage history and a collectible item for numismatists interested in small cents and wartime coins. Please note the first picture is of one of the early steel cents sold from this batch, not the actual one you will receive. Yours will be similar but may be slightly darker, lighter, more or less worn. I had someone tell me they thought they were getting a brown penny because the picture looks brown to them. These are steel pennies they are not copper! The colors range from steel grey to black depending on how much corrosion and/or rust is present. They have a natural finish. I do accept returns if you’re not satisfied.
