Lot of 8 original 1933 Chicago World’s Fair Y.M.C.A. Hotel luggage/baggage labels.
These striking triangular labels were produced to advertise the Y.M.C.A. Hotel, 826 S. Wabash Ave., Chicago, during the 1933 World’s Fair / A Century of Progress International Exposition.
Each features a deep blue background with orange “World’s Fair 1933 Chicago” lettering and an illustrated Y.M.C.A. Hotel emblem advertising 2,500 rooms.
These are approximately 4⅝” wide; please see measurement photos for exact sizing. A period World’s Fair sale catalog documents this same label at 4⅝” × 2 9/16”.
Condition: Unused vintage labels with age-related storage wear. Backs show toning/discoloration, spotting, adhesive aging/residue and areas of surface wear consistent with their age. Fronts retain particularly attractive blue and orange coloring. Individual condition varies slightly. Please examine all photos closely for condition.
