Original Whitely Benny Leonard Chest Pull Exerciser, dating to 1922, complete with its highly collectible illustrated advertising box and original exercise instruction/course sheet.
This early home fitness device was sold by Moosehead Sales Co., New York, N.Y. and features multiple elastic resistance cords with metal spring connectors and red handles. The box has striking period graphics showing the Whitely exerciser in use, along with the Whitely trademark and photographic endorsement artwork.
The included illustrated course shows a variety of chest-pull exercises and training positions, making this a particularly interesting survivor from the early days of home bodybuilding, physical culture, and resistance training.
Vintage condition throughout. The exerciser shows age-related wear. The instruction sheet has toning, spotting, creases and edge wear. The original cardboard box has age wear, but the graphics remain very attractive and display well. Please review all photos carefully for condition.
A scarce piece of 1920s physical culture and boxing and fitness history, especially desirable with the original box and illustrated exercise literature still present.
