J. Stillman.
The photographs pair historic Cambridge locations with poetry byHenry Wadsworth Longfellow, James Russell Lowell, and Oliver Wendell Holmes. Stillman explains in his preface that modernization threatened places the poets had made famous, and that he photographed these Cambridge landmarks specifically to preserve their appearance for future generations.
The book is recognized institutionally as a photographically illustrated book; a copy is held in the University of St AndrewsPhotobooks and Photographically Illustrated Books Collection.
