A scarce piece by Adam Gurowski (1805-1866), a Polish nobleman and supporter of Polish revolutionary causes. Forced out of Poland following the failed November Uprising of 1830, he first made his way to France, and then to the United States in 1849, where he lived out the rest of his life.
