Here is a nice hand colored engraving (antique and used condition) from 1802 depicting a carrot and a turnip! This engraving is also cool as it has an original edit--if you look closely at the top above the vegetables, the 1 and 2 were hand crossed out and renumbered in original fountain pen ink.The botanical was by Syd Edwards, del., F. Sanfom, and published by Sam Curtis. Also, the framers typed in the wrong date on the little gallery tag on the back.The botanical was framed in a gallery with an oak frame; dimensions are: 12 7/8\" across X 15 7/8\".CONDITION: Botanical is antique & was framed at a later date, backing paper is ripped around its perimeter (see pics), date on the gallery tag is wrong, the frame itself has several small areas with scrapes and/or dings, the botanical paper has a few small foxed/spotted areas, and of course, the numbers at top of veggies were crossed out and rewritten. I actually think that makes this piece even cooler as it\'s an original fix (probably done by the colorist.) There is an itty bitty scratch on the glass, left side center (pictured) that is very hard to see. All in all, it\'s in nice condition except for the ripped backing paper.
