Risen King Calls – Handcrafted Turkey Box CallThis one-of-a-kind turkey call is handcrafted from 100+ year-old reclaimed barn wood. This wood had already lived a long life before it ever came into my shop.If this old wood could talk, there’s no telling what stories it could tell. Many years ago, someone stood at that old barn and brushed on the red paint that can still be seen today. Through decades of Kentucky weather, changing seasons, and generations coming and going, that paint and wood survived. I have intentionally preserved that aged character rather than covering it up, because those marks are part of its story.I was able to give a piece of that old barn a new purpose by turning it into a working turkey call that can be carried into the spring woods for years to come.The call features a walnut lid, walnut lock, hickory bottom, and comes with a handcrafted Eastern red cedar striker.Every Risen King Call is individually handcrafted, tuned, dated, and numbered by me, Shannon “PucDaddy” Puckett, in Murray, Kentucky. I approach each call much like a musical instrument, working and tuning it until I hear the realistic tones and notes I’m looking for from a wild turkey.The old paint, weathered grain, nail marks, color variations, and imperfections are not defects—they are pieces of this wood’s history.
