Diet
Ghost Shrimp are omnivorous scavengers. They will graze on algae and biofilm but also appreciate:
High-quality shrimp pellets or sinking wafers
Leftover fish food
Blanched vegetables (zucchini, spinach, or cucumber)
Protein-based foods such as brine shrimp or bloodworms
A varied diet promotes strong health and better reproduction.
Tank Requirements
Minimum Tank Size: 5 gallons (more space is better for larger colonies)
Tank Setup: Provide plenty of hiding places with live plants, rocks, or shrimp tubes.
Filtration: Sponge filters or pre-filtered intakes help protect delicate shrimp from being sucked in.
Tankmates: Peaceful fish or other shrimp. Avoid aggressive or predatory species.
Behavior & Compatibility
Ghost Shrimp are peaceful and active foragers. They do best in groups and can coexist with most non-aggressive fish. They are fascinating to watch as they pick through the substrate and plants for food.
Shipping
We ship Monday–Thursday, but Thursday shipments are only sent if Saturday delivery is available to your address to ensure your shrimp arrive healthy and on time.
DOA Policy
We guarantee live arrival on all shrimp. In the rare event of a DOA (Dead on Arrival), please send a clear photo of the unopened bag within 2 hours of delivery. A replacement or refund will be issued for DOA shrimp.
