• 1st Cameo Appearance ApocalypseSynopsis:In this issue, the original X-Men reunite as the mutant-hunting team X-Factor to help a stranded mutant on the run from a band of powered criminals in California, only to discover that his uncontrollable abilities stem from drug use meant to trigger his mutant power. When the criminals track him down and capture him along with his ex-wife, they force him to amplify their own abilities and deliver both of them to their true master, revealed to be Apocalypse, an ancient mutant tyrant bent on waging war against humanity. Though only glimpsed in shadow here, this marks the first appearance of one of the X-Men mythos\' most enduring villains, a mutant supremacist whose full identity and origin would be revealed in the very next issue. The story also continues to build the team\'s uneasy public-relations front, as X-Factor poses publicly as mutant hunters for hire while secretly using their resources to protect and train young mutants behind the scenes.Contributors:Writer: Bob Layton
