A pair of vintage J. Tostrup (Norway) gilt enameled sterling silver salt & pepper shakers. Female figures with conical skirt, bosomy hands-on-hips torso, pierced collar, and austere face in medieval-style headdress. Blouse is white and patterned. Each measures 2.5" in height and their combined weight is 47. grams. I have left the shakers in as found unpolished condition as the darkened patina really adds to the overall look. Both could easily be brought to a high gloss shine if so desired. Stamped on the base Sterling J. Tostrup Norway.The green shaker is in excellent vintage condition. The blue shaker is in great condition other than 2 small chips in the enamel on the back of the skirt . Please see phots as they are part of the condition.
