All-wood Schoenhut baby doll, marked with the maker\'s oval paper label reading \"Schoenhut Doll, Pat. Jan. 17th 1911, U.S.A.\" on the upper back. This is a bent-limb baby body, a construction Harry Edison Schoenhut designed in 1913 to mimic a real infant\'s posture: the shoulders and hips are spring-jointed and pose freely, while the forearms and lower legs are carved in a fixed, gently curled shape.

She stands 12 inches tall, with a mohair wig, painted eyes, and painted features. She is dressed in a cream cotton christening-style gown with lace trim and a matching bonnet with satin ribbon ties; this costume appears to be a vintage christening set rather than the doll\'s original factory clothing.
