Issued for the 1926 Sesquicentennial International Exposition in Philadelphia, this historic piece commemorated the 150th anniversary of American independence.
The obverse features George Washington, surrounded by 13 stars, with the Liberty Bell, PHILADELPHIA and 1926 below.

The reverse features an absolutely fantastic design of Liberty riding Pegasus, the legendary winged horse, while holding a torch high above the clouds.

This one manages to fit George Washington, the Liberty Bell, Liberty, Pegasus and a torch onto one medal.
Apparently subtlety was not part of the design meeting. πππ₯

This appears to be a very attractive example with strong detail and considerable remaining brightness.
Expect normal marks, contact, toning and surface characteristics consistent with age and storage.
