An 1845 Second Edition of Mrs. Lucia Elizabeth Balcombe Abell\'s memoir detailing her time spent with Napoleon Bonaparte during his exile on St. Helena.
Binding & Cover: Original green cloth with detailed gilt stamping. Front cover features an embossed crest in gilt; back cover features the same design blind-stamped. The spine has bright gilt lettering (\"Napoleon at St. Helena - Mrs. Abell\") framed by imperial bee motifs. Some shelf wear to spine ends and corners.Inscriptions/Marks: Previous owner’s signature in ink at the top of the title page, a few pencil notations. Text is unmarked.Hinges & Pages: Inner endpapers show paper splitting near the gutter/hinges, but the textblock remains bound. Pages show age-toning and occasional light foxing expected for a mid-19th-century volume.
