The Wagner Ware No 8 castiron skillet is fully restored. The hallmarks on the bottom of the skillet indicates it comes from a series of skillets that was manufactured sometime between 1924-1935.Wagner Ware cast ironproduced before WWII are the finest in quality for that time period. They tendto have very few casting flaws resulting in a smooth polished finish on boththe interior and exterior surfaces. The cooking surface has a hints of fine etching from corrosion and hints of utensil scores.These are undetectable as you glide your fingers over a near glass smooth surface. The bottom of the pan has the effects of sulfur erosion.Five sheets of printer paper slipped under one edge on the bottom stops movement on a granite surface. No chips, cracks or repairs and does not spin.
Test for flatness of skillet. With the skillet resting on a polished granite surface, press down all along the top rim searching for movement. If movement is found, slip pieces of printer paper under one edge of the until pot stops moving.
This item is from an old collection and was cleaned and seasoned, then stored for many years. Because item was stored for many years, there may be spots of light surface rust.
