This offering is for an original early to mid 19th Century Lignum Vitae Covered Bowl or cup. The bowl has a finely turned finial, shaped body and finely turned thin foot. The overall height to the top of the finial is app. 7.25\" and the body has a maximum diameter of 4.75\" Based on the age apparent on the underside of the foot which was left unfinished I believe the bowl is fairly early, probably dating to the 1st half of the 19th century. There are no chips, breaks or repairs. However there is a short crack in the rim of the foot as well as a tight crack in the lower half of the bowl. Lastly there are three cracks in the lid, two of them measure .5\" long and the third extends from the rim to the finial. All are very very tight with no missing material. There is some beautiful figuring to the wood on one side as seen in our photo\'s. The buyer will pay a fixed amount of $ 20.00 for Standard Mail and we will include delivery confirmation, tracking, at no additional cost.
